Metals

The reduction and recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals takes many and varied forms.  Waste Initatives can supply shredding systems to provide the solution to many applications such as, size reduction for materials and handling.  The volume reduction of drums and cans by shredding is very high as these products are full of air when empty.

Aluminium frames, purgings, copper cable and pipes can be reduced for easy loading into furnaces for smelting.  Tinplate can be shred for the de-tinning process.  Metal shavings can be shred for reclaiming the coolant and the metal is suitable for furnace fodder in recycling.

Batteries have large lead content and can be shred and separted.  Solvent and paint drums, aerosol cans can be shred in a special inert gas system to prevent explosion.  Lead, iron sheeting and other metals can also be shred.  Call us to discuss your recycling needs.
